Huge congratulations to Paloma Alaniz-Perez , RHS's January Student of the Month!

From her positive attitude in the hallways to her hard work in the classroom, she is truly a gift to our school community. When Paloma is not busy running distance for track or practicing the piano, you can usually find her working shifts at Adolph’s Mexican Restaurant. She’s someone who loves staying productive, whether she's at work or at home diving into a puzzle or a new Lego build. Family and friends are a huge priority for her, and she’s always down to hang out with them and her two dogs, Milo and Tito. At school, she really enjoys her Art, PE, and English classes. She loves attending Rockridge High School because she gets to learn from different teachers and explore subjects that prep her for college, all while attending fun school events with her friends. After high school, Paloma would like to study agriculture in college.

Here are words from our staff about Paloma:

She is one of the sweetest young ladies, who always has a kind word for everyone. She always wants to know how your day is going and really cares to hear about it! -Mrs. Macke

Paloma is an excellent choice for Student of the Month because she is a remarkably hard worker who takes great pride in her studies, always striving to deliver her best work in every assignment and project. Paloma’s kind and thoughtful nature makes her a positive influence on her peers and a joy to have in the classroom. And on a side note her and her family make delicious tamales! -Mrs. Beguelin

Paloma has to be one of the kindest students in the whole world! Always smiling and works very hard in Personal Conditioning. -Mr. Smith

Paloma is a considerate, hard working and gracious student. She always does her best with everything she does. She is polite and kind to everyone. She is an absolute joy to have in class! -Mrs. Schwartzkopf

Even though I have not had Paloma in a class yet, it is a testament to her personality that I know her and that we speak to each other. She goes out of her way to greet me each day and ask me how I'm doing and wish me well. She is friendly and outgoing and has an infectious smile! I see her positive interactions with other students and view her as a role model to her peers. I can't wait to have her in class! -Ms. Graves

Paloma is a joy to have in class. She shows up every day with a positive attitude and works extremely hard. Paloma has built a lot of positive relationships with students and staff here at Rockridge High School. -Mr. Gunneman

Paloma is bright, creative and definitely the sweetest student I have! She is passionate and very thorough in every project she completes. Paloma is creative with all of her projects and adds her personality to them. She is kind to everyone, everyone, period. Her smile radiates across a room and when it does she uplifts everyone around her. Congratulations Paloma, keep the kindness and compassion in your soul forever and you will go far in life! -Mrs. Densberger
