Mrs. Sours's class filled up their apple tree chart by passing 100 i-ready lessons with 100% accuracy. They celebrated by having an extra recess this afternoon.
Thank you so much to the ICBP Fire Department for dedicating their whole morning to teaching our K-2 elementary students about fire safety! The kids absolutely loved it!

Mrs. Halls 1st graders completed our unit on the human body this week. We made X-rays of our hands and made skeletons using Cheetos! We had a lot of fun with this unit!

Mrs. Robinson’s (ICE) celebrated the end of our "The Human Body" knowledge domain! We made skeletons from cheetos bones!
PTO McTeacher night at McDonald's! It was a hit and helped to raise money for our schools. Some of my students came to see me while I "worked my shift!"
One last reminder....tonight Mr. Bizarri will host an information night to present information about ICE that may be helpful in navigating the school year and/or ideas for parents/guardians to help support ICE staff members in their efforts with instruction.

ICE Parents/Guardians...Good Morning...would you please take a few seconds to fill out a very short form/survey indicating your availability/interest for this Wednesday's ICE Parent Information Night? Completing this will give us an idea of copies of handouts we need.
Two of today's newsletter items are important to next week, so this is an extra message to emphasize those items. First, on Wednesday, September 17, ICE will host an INFORMATION NIGHT. This is a chance to get to meet/visit with Mr. Bizarri, tour the building, and receive info on a variety of topics - a link to the agenda as well as a link RSVP are included on the flyer. If you attended this event last year, you are certainly welcome to attend this year - times are listed on the flyer. Also, ICE will be offering a few APPAREL ITEMS that you may be interested in that commemorate the building's 70th birthday coming up this winter, as well as highlight the school's original team mascot - the Red Devils!. Students will have a copy of the order form in their take-home folders today, and a copy of the order form was pushed out with today's newsletter. We'll collect order forms next week, and we'll submit an order next Friday.

Both 2nd Grade classes at Illinois City celebrated the completion of their Fairy Tales and Tall Tales domain by having some Paul Bunyan flapjacks!
