Illinois City First Graders would like to thank the Rockridge Association for giving us the opportunity to attend Charlotte's Web at Circa '21! We had a wonderful time!
The second grade classes at Illinois City have been having fun practicing their measurement skills in math. Students created their own paper airplanes and tested them with three flights, measuring the distance each time. Two students even had planes that flew all the way to the far wall of the gym!

It was a perfect day to celebrate filling our iready chart with a movie and pajamas. Mrs. Sours's second graders passed over 100 lessons with a score of 100%.

This past Monday, Jade Kargl was recognized as the IC Elementary 2nd Grade Student of the Month at the March meeting of the Rockridge Board of Education. Jade brings a smile and love of learning to her classroom and the building each day. Also, she works hard to achieve and grow academically, earning "platinum" growth certificates in reading and math. Jade is the daughter of Kodi and Tyler Kargl of Andalusia. Congratulations Jade!

The second graders at Illinois City finished their Knowledge Unit on insects with some fun activities. They created fireflies and flew them around the classroom. Then special guest, Justin Parchert, came to talk to them about honey bees!
