Illinois City would like to announce Callie Wynn as our 1st Grader Student of the Month for April 2025! Callie is the daughter of Eric and Val Wynn. Callie loves to draw, play on the playground and play softball. She would like to be an artist when she grows up. Callie was quoted saying, “I try to ask other students to be good in the classroom or on the bus, or be nice to each other at recess.” Her teachers had the following comments about her: Ms. Friedel - she's a real go getter in whatever the task at hand is. I find Callie to ALWAYS have a smile on her face. She's willing to help others at lunch time if needed. She's just a little ray of sunshine, even on the dreariest of days! Mrs. Zampogna - Callie is a sweet girl who is always willing to help others out. She is very kind and thoughtful. Mr. Hasson - Awesome job Callie. She always has a smile in PE, unless it is too hot. Haha. I can count on Callie to always help me and others. Keep working hard. Good job. Ms. Winn - Callie is a wonderful student who leads by example. When her class is in the music room, I find myself constantly complimenting Callie on her positive behavior and focus. She is always doing exactly what she is supposed to be doing, and is kind to everyone. I enjoy having her in my classroom each day! Mrs. Parchert - It was my pleasure to be Callie's Kindergarten teacher. She was very kind-hearted and always polite to her classmates. Even during times when the Kindergarten class was a bit chaotic, I could always rely on Callie to be calm and well-mannered. She also excelled in her creativity and artistic talents. Not only is Callie a fantastic writer, but she is a phenomenal illustrator who creates beautiful, detailed pictures. Callie is very deserving of the Student of the Month award! Mrs. Hall - Callie was chosen as our student of month for the many outstanding characteristics that she displays on a daily basis. She starts every day with a polite greeting. Callie is a very kind, considerate and compassionate little girl. She is always willing to help out others and will do so without being asked. Callie has a very kind heart and is a friend to everyone. Her peers love to listen to her read. Callie is an amazing role model for her peers and someone they look up to. It has been a pleasure to have Callie in my class this year!
