The Rockridge 6th Graders took a field trip this morning to the HNI Headquarters and Plant in Muscatine. They got to tour the facilities and learn about various careers in the Manufacturing Industry. Research shows that career experiences like this have the greatest impact between the ages of 6th-8th grade. They raise awareness and inspire curiosity about careers – specifically in manufacturing. Many students will choose their high school classes based on specific career interests. So, although 6th grade seems young – it is the perfect time for them to be experiencing different careers! Thank you to Mandy Parchert and the team at HNI for providing this valuable experience!

How do you blow straight through a school bus stop sign—on a snowy morning—while the bus lays on the horn—and not even bother to brake?
What level of negligence is that?
We’re out here with 50+ kids depending on us to get them to and from school safely, and drivers like this one can’t manage the most basic rule in existence: STOP FOR THE SCHOOL BUS. This isn’t a mistake. It’s not a lapse. It’s dangerous, reckless, and completely unacceptable. If you’re that distracted, you have no business being behind the wheel. Iowa plates JRT560 your ticket is coming. Do better. Now.
