Subject: Important Update on Our District's Plans Dear Rockridge Families, I’m writing to share some exciting news about the future of our district—news that has the potential to significantly impact our learning environment and our community. After careful consideration, extensive research, and valuable input from our community, the Rockridge School District Board of Education has decided to move forward with a bond referendum this November. If approved, this proposal will allow us to build a new, consolidated PreK-5 elementary school on the Jr./Sr. High School campus AND air condition the JH/HS building—all while maintaining the current tax rate. Our current elementary schools, some of which are over 68 years old, face significant challenges in meeting the needs of our growing student population. A new facility will provide modern classrooms, specialized spaces for art, music, and physical education, and enhanced safety features. This project is crucial to ensuring that all our students have access to the best possible learning environment. The early dismissals this week due to excessive heat underscore the need for updated, climate-controlled spaces where our students can learn comfortably and safely. As we move forward with this plan, I want to emphasize that this project is an investment in the future of our children and our community. We are committed to providing a high-quality education while being fiscally responsible and maximizing our resources. I encourage you to stay informed about the bond proposal and participate in the voting process on November 5. Thank you for your continued partnership and dedication to our students' success. If you have any questions or would like more information, please don't hesitate to reach out. More details are also available on our website at https://www.rr300.org/page/referendum-proposal. Sincerely, Marcus Bush Superintendent Rockridge School District
