The faculty and staff of Rockridge Junior High are pleased to announce that Brady Fuhr has been chosen as the 8th grade Student of the Month for September 2024.
Brady is the son of Julie and Ryan Fuhr. He has two older sisters, Kiersten and Holly who both graduated from Rockridge. Outside of school Brady likes to play video games, plays the piano/music, bake, watch movies, and create art. While at school he participates in Speech Club, Yearbook, Scholastic Bowl, Track, Band and Choir. His favorite subject in school is Math. His favorite foods are Garlic Breadsticks, Cheez-its, and tacos. His favorite book is The Great Trouble. His favorite movie is the Book of Life. His favorite memory thus far this year is “acting” for the high school marching band. People would say that his top three qualities are that he is hard working, kind, and creative. He has received several awards and honors while in Jr High including the following- ILMEA for band, positive referral from 7th grade teacher, and All-State choir. He looks up to his sisters because he feels he followed in their footsteps in many different ways. He also says he can count on them when he needs them. In the future Brady would like to pursue a career as an Astronomer.
A few notes from his teachers:
Mrs. Lopez, his ELA teacher says “Brady is a mature, young man who is always ready to help other students if they are in need.”
Mrs. Bizarri, his Social Studies teacher says “I have Brady first hour, he always has a smile on his face and is ready to learn. Brady has really stood out to me as a student so far this school year. He not not only excels academically but I have noticed how kind and polite he is. This positive behavior is not only with the adults in the building but with his fellow classmates as well.”
Mr. Henry, his Math teacher says “Brady is an outstanding leader in the Junior High”
Mr. Walker, his Band director says “Brady Fuhr is an exceptionally mature and musically skilled young man. He's been a member of the Rockridge Music Department since he first came to the Junior High as a sixth grader. In addition to being a consistent leader in band and choir, he also jumps at the chance to participate in performance opportunities outside of the Junior High, performing at various band and choir festivals outside of the normal day to day activities of our music department. Brady has also served as an actor with the High School marching band for the last two years.”
Mr. O, his Choir instructor says “Brady is a very strong musician who enters the room with a smile, works hard and is always doing his best and leading those around him to do the same.”

Congratulations to our 2024 Homecoming Queen Lily Bohnsack & King Jude Finch!!

Subject: Important Update on Our District's Plans
Dear Rockridge Families,
I’m writing to share some exciting news about the future of our district—news that has the potential to significantly impact our learning environment and our community.
After careful consideration, extensive research, and valuable input from our community, the Rockridge School District Board of Education has decided to move forward with a bond referendum this November. If approved, this proposal will allow us to build a new, consolidated PreK-5 elementary school on the Jr./Sr. High School campus AND air condition the JH/HS building—all while maintaining the current tax rate.
Our current elementary schools, some of which are over 68 years old, face significant challenges in meeting the needs of our growing student population. A new facility will provide modern classrooms, specialized spaces for art, music, and physical education, and enhanced safety features. This project is crucial to ensuring that all our students have access to the best possible learning environment.
The early dismissals this week due to excessive heat underscore the need for updated, climate-controlled spaces where our students can learn comfortably and safely.
As we move forward with this plan, I want to emphasize that this project is an investment in the future of our children and our community. We are committed to providing a high-quality education while being fiscally responsible and maximizing our resources.
I encourage you to stay informed about the bond proposal and participate in the voting process on November 5.
Thank you for your continued partnership and dedication to our students' success. If you have any questions or would like more information, please don't hesitate to reach out.
More details are also available on our website at https://www.rr300.org/page/referendum-proposal.
Sincerely,
Marcus Bush
Superintendent
Rockridge School District
