Andalusia 4th graders celebrated Illinois' 205th with a birthday party. Students played games (pin the location on the state), created a craft (a cardinal), made a party favor (a beaded bracelet), and ate cupcakes. The celebration kicked off our unit on our wonderful state where we will learn about its history, symbols, government, and more. Later in the year, students will visit the state capital and museum for their annual fieldtrip.
