Jacob Peterson

The faculty of Rockridge High School has selected Jacob Peterson as the March 2022 Student of the Month.  Jacob is a senior at Rockridge High School and is the son of Tom & Wendy Peterson of Milan.

Jacob is an honor student at RHS and was selected as an Illinois State Scholar for the Class of 2022.  He is a member of the National Honor Society and is an active member of the Rockridge FFA Chapter.  He reports that Mr. Christian is his favorite teacher this year.

Jacob is very active in our vocational department and participates in our newly re-established Co-Op Program.  He states that he enjoys woodworking in his free time.  He is employed at QC Pool Pros, LLC.  Jacob’s teachers had the following positive things to say:

  • English Teacher Ms. Brandy Cope stated, “Jacob has come a long way since his sophomore year.  He is always polite and responsible, which are traits his teachers appreciate very much.”
  • Math Teacher and NHS Adviser Mrs. Tami Clarke added, “Jake is someone who can always be relied upon to get the job done regardless of what is needed.  He is courteous and respectful and an absolute joy to have as a member of NHS.”
  • Social Studies Teacher Mrs. Brandee Neece remarked, “Jacob is mature beyond his years.  His wisdom is only surpassed by his intelligence and level-headedness.  His love for his country and respect for his elders is rarely seen in students these days.  I am so proud of the young man he has become since his freshman year and I wish him only continued success in achieving his goals in carpentry.”
  • Industrial Tech Teacher & Co-Op Supervisor Mr. Conner Christian said, “He has been super helpful in the classroom as a leader.  He is willing to learn and understand new things and is good at adapting.  He has a promising career in the trades.”

After graduation Jacob plans to start an apprenticeship at the Carpenters Training Center and pursue a career in the trades.
