Chris Bragg Honored as "Employee of the Year"  FBG Service Corporation announced that Christine Bragg, an employee of the company’s Quad Cities District, was honored as the Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) Employee of the Year at the Bellagio Resort in Las Vegas last week.  Chris is the building custodian at Taylor Ridge Elementary School.  Click here to read the full story.

Bus Drivers Needed
Looking for work? The Rockridge School District is looking for full time and sub bus drivers. Drivers can work a few hours per day and still go golfing or shopping during the day. Full-time drivers only work 174 days per year and earn close to $10K/year. If you're interested in learning more, please call 309-793-8080.

Homecoming Chili Supper - Sept 28
The Rockridge HS Junior Class of 2019 Invites all of the Rockridge Community to the Annual Homecoming Chili Supper, which will take place Thursday, September 28th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm in the RHS Cafeteria.  The Meal Deal is $5.00 for Dine-In Only and includes Chili, a Hot Dog, Beverage, & Dessert. New this year is a Carry-Out Pint of Chili for $5.00. Ala carte items are also available.  All proceeds support the RHS Junior Class and the 2018 Junior-Senior Prom.

Rockridge vs. Morrison - October 13th - to benefit the Pat Tillman Foundation
In conjunction with our football game being played in Clinton, IA at the Lumberkings Stadium on Friday, October 13th, the Morrison football staff has decided to use this as an opportunity to raise funds for a worthy cause. As educators our goal is to guide our student athletes to the next level. With this goal in mind the MHS football staff has chosen the Pat Tillman Foundation as a charity worthy of our support.  Click here to learn more.  Click here to order commemorative shirts. (Deadline is October 1st)

FFA Judging Team Fundraisers
Help support our Rockridge FFA LIvestock Judging team as they travel to Denver in January to represent Illinois at the National Western Roundup.  Members of the team are asking for donations of corn to help cover expenses.  If you are interested contact Mr. Hyett at (309)-791-7452 or any team member to make further arrangements.  Any and all donations are very much appreciated.  Team members are: Cole Whisman, Brittany Olson, Jake Bohnsack, Mia Freyermuth, & Eliza LIlliman.

Edgington Presbyterian Church Coat Drive
The Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church is again collecting gently used coats, hats, mittens, and scarves to help those in need in our community. Coats can be dropped off at the Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church or at any Rockridge School. All sizes are needed, but especially children’s sizes. Coats will be given October 28 from 8:30-11:00 am in conjunction with the food pantry distribution. If you have questions or would like to recommend someone to receive a coat, please contact the church office at 309-795-1713.

2nd Annual PTC Color-A-Thon
Your K-5 student received an envelope asking for your support in our upcoming Color-A-Thon fun run to be held on October 1 at Loud Thunder. We are super excited about this event!  This is a fun community-building event that will not only raise money for our school but will provide a healthy opportunity for our students, faculty and their families. HOMECOMING 2017 "Fighting Crime One Game at a Time"
This year's Homecoming is a Super Hero Theme. The Homecoming Parade, Chili Supper, & Pep Rally are scheduled for Thursday, September 28th. The Rockets will face Peru St. Bede in the Homecoming Football Game on Friday, September 29th, and the Homecoming Dance will take place in the North Gymnasium on Saturday, September 30th from 8:00-11:00 pm.

The Rockridge HS Student Council is now taking orders for Homecoming T-Shirts to commemorate this year's event.  Click here for a design preview.  T-shirts are $10 each and all proceeds benefit the RHS Student Council.  Click here to download an order form.  All orders must be pre-paid and delivered to the RHS Office by Friday, September 15th.  Please contact Student Council Sponsor Mrs. Aimee Neece with any questions about the t-shirt orders or other Homecoming events.  Click here to download a parade entry form.

Rep. Mike Halpin Honors Music Department
Thank you to IL State Representative Mike Halpin (D 72nd Dist) for stopping by RHS this morning to formal recognize the Music Department for their Third Straight IHSA Class B Sweepstakes State Championship!! Rep. Halpin read a formal resolution and presented a certificate to the students at a brief assembly this morning. 

Rockridge FFA Greenhouse Helps Urban Garden Project

A small church is providing sizable benefits through its urban gardens in Rock Island.  Spearheaded by one of its elders, Broadway Presbyterian Church, with about 100 members, has been addressing food insecurity, challenges faced by refugees and immigrants and more, by working the soil.  Click here to read more...
