As most of you know, Rockridge Junior High has taken a large group of students to Washington DC each summer for many years. This trip is not required in any manner, but rather is a tuition-based opportunity offered to all the 8th-grade graduates. It is an amazing opportunity and leads to lifelong memories. To explain how it all works, each year, Mr. Ruff speaks to the 7th-grade kids in their Social Studies class to build interest in the kids. Then, usually about a week later, he hosts a parent meeting to share all the details about the trip. In particular, the trip’s agenda, travel details, overall costs, and behavior expectations are discussed. The parent meeting in the high school auditorium at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, February 21. After attending this meeting, parents will have all the necessary information they will need to properly register their kid for the 2019 DC trip. By holding the meeting in late February, this allows parents to finance the trip for 12 months (if needed) from March 2018 to March 2019. If a parent wants to pay off the trip in full, that is certainly acceptable as well, but not the norm.  Please click here to learn more about the Washington DC Trip.
