Rockridge Events

2019-20 Sports Physicals
Athletic physicals will once again be offered at Rockridge for the 2019-20 school year. These physicals are open to any current 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students who plan to participate in athletics during the 2019-20 school year. The cost per physical will be $25 and checks should be made
out to Rockridge CUSD #300. Physicals are considered active and current for a period of 13 months from the date of the physical. Unfortunately, the physicals offered at Rockridge are not open to any student entering 6th and 9th grades for the 19-20 school year, as these students need to have a different physical conducted for their entry into junior high and high school.

The dates and times of the physicals are as follows:
Males - Friday, May 24th from 8 am - 2 pm in the JH Boys' Gym Locker Room - physicals conducted by Dr. Stephen Bayne (males can go to have their physical during PE, study hall or lunch)
Females - Wednesday, May 29th from 9 am - 2 pm in the HS Girls' Locker Room - physicals conducted by Dr. Rhonda Sowards (females can go to have their physical during PE, study hall or lunch)

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call either the junior high or high school office.

Rockets Garden Project
We have exciting news to share! In 2018, Rockridge School District was awarded over $8,000 in grant money to support the implementation of an “outdoor classroom” through simple school gardens! You may have noticed some white structures in and around our Illinois City, Taylor Ridge and Andalusia buildings. These are our NEW vegetable gardens. Grant funding also provided new picnic tables and garden kits as well for all three elementary buildings.

“Rockets Garden” will serve as a powerful learning tool for our K-5 students to experience hands-on learning and to discover how and where food is grown. Students will have an opportunity to learn about earth and life science by digging in the dirt!

In effort to share more with the community we will be installing new signs to identify the gardens very soon. We are also offering a Rockets Garden t-shirt for sale to adults and students. The proceeds from the shirts will further support the gardens.  Click here to download an order form.  ORDERS ARE DUE BY TUESDAY, MAY 21ST!

If you would like more information on this effort, please visit “Rockridge Parent Page” on Facebook.
